Overview of Information for New York Applicants to the National Historical Publications and Records Commission

The State Historical Records Advisory Board is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations on applications to the National Historical Publications and Records Commission that have been submitted by organizations in the geographic boundaries of New York State.

• In some limited instances, applications may not require review by the SHRAB, but potential applicants should verify that with the State Coordinator or NHPRC staff.

The SHRAB is charged by NHPRC with setting statewide priorities for applications from New York.

• The Board makes this information available on request to all potential applicants through this website and through printed versions available from the SHRAB.

Potential applicants may discuss their project ideas with SHRAB staff or request informal review of draft proposals by contacting  SHRAB at:
