The State Historical Records Advisory Board (SHRAB) developed this strategic plan under its mandate to advise on strengthening our historical resources. The plan identifies priorities and goals to be addressed by all who are involved in the preservation and use of historical records.

In 1996-97, SHRAB received a strategic planning grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission. This plan was developed through a process that involved collection of data on historical records conditions, issues, and needs, public review and comment of a draft plan.
