Introducing the Peugeot 505, a humble European sedan that you may not be familiar with. Peugeot designed the 505 to be an affordable, comfortable, and reliable family car. The car you see here is a significantly modified 505, it's called the The Peugeot 505 Pick-Up Double Cabine Gruau and it was built by Carrosserie Gruau using a 505 station wagon as a starting point. Carrosserie Gruau is a French coachbuilder and specialist vehicle manufacturer that started out all the way back in 1889 making horse carts.

Back in the late '70s, Peugeot had to modify the 505's body to comply with American regulations. Starting from 1980, the U.S. cars got quad round headlamps and different taillights, larger bumpers, relocated tailpipes and antennas, and with the fuel tank moved inwards, its filler got moved from the left side to the right as well.
