Peugeot 505

The Peugeot 505 is a large family car produced by the French manufacturer Peugeot from 1979 to 1992 in Sochaux, France. It was also manufactured in various other countries including Argentina (by Sevel from 1981 to 1995), China, Thailand (by Yontrakit Industrial Co.,Ltd. ), Indonesia and Nigeria. The 505 was Peugeot's last rear-wheel drive car. [5] The Peugeot 505 had the dual fate of being Peugeot's most-popular model, and also the one that effectively ended its presence when it did not get a direct replacement.

The Peugeot 505 was a series of large family cars introduced in 1979. The 505 was offered as a sedan or station wagon, and has the distinction of being the last rear wheel drive car made by Peugeot. A large range of naturally aspirated and turbocharged inline four engines were fitted, and they were available as gasoline or diesel units. The 505 built on this successful formula, and it was also the last rear wheel drive car to be manufactured by Peugeot, and one of the last large French cars to do well in the global market.
